and...ICE not NICE

Hey little girl, beware, danger lurks out there.

Hey little boy, take heed, beware the evil deed.

Temptation is too great, your future cannot wait.

It’s there for you to try, but is it all a lie?

Do you think you’re having fun, not hurting any one?

Just going for a ride, to check the other side.

But can you take a chance, to try this lethal dance?

A momentary ecstasy, that sends you in a trance.

The journey is a lie, it will not take you high,

only devastation left behind, think clear before you die.

Girl, did you take that pretty pill for the momentary thrill?

Boy, were you feeling bored? Had the urge to get scored?

Did you think that you were safe: That you wouldn’t get into strife?

Now look what you have done, You’ve destroyed your very life.

Don’t taste the ice, it’s not so nice.

It leaves you cold, so cold as ice.

Turn back before it’s late, don’t pause, don’t hesitate.

Fickle youth is only testing you, to send you to your fate.

Look hard and look deep, before you take the leap,

into the crevice of the ravine, we will be left to weep.

If you are feeling lost, and you think you’ve lost your way,

take hold the hand of kindness, extended you this day.

It is right there before you, just open up your eyes.

See the beauty that surrounds us, with every sunrise.

It is the role of youth to question the unknown,

but what do you achieve if you’re left without a home?

Take your time to search for answers,

do not fear the things you dread.

Every day you’ll find a meaning,

see the light, it’s just ahead.
