I look up to the cloudless sky,
And close my eyes to years gone by,
I breathe in deep the fresh sea air;
What joy, I sigh, without a care.
With outstretched arms, a weight like lead,
On sand and pebbles for my bed.
The scorching sun sends down its ray
To caress my body as I lay.
The wind blows soft with charm and grace
And cools the heat around my face.
I drift into a peaceful sleep
And dream about the ocean deep.
I watch the fish with stealth and speed
As they prey on smaller fish to feed.
My eyes peer through the waters dark
With terror they sense the mighty shark.
I try to move, I cannot scream,
Until I’m woken from my dream.
The children’s laughter beckons me
To taste the freshness of the sea.
