The day will come when all mankind will learn the word of love;
When hate no longer has a place, replaced by the peaceful Dove.
The day will come when there is calm, the return of humility;
When man will see the blindness of war, the unjust futility.
The day will come when people learn to live with one another;
Christian, Jew, Muslim, alike, we are all but sister and brother.
The day will come when there is no need to kill, or steal, or hate;
When the earth provides for one and all, and we learn to tolerate.
The day will come when there is no longer violence in the street;
When truth and honesty prevail to ban the fraud and cheat.
The day will come when animals no longer fear extinction;
When we can recognize their worth and do so with distinction.
The day will come when the ocean’s jewels can go forth and multiply;
When man no longer chokes the sea, and continues to justify.
The day will come when our forests have no fear of condemnation;
When our soil is enriched with the nutrients it needs for cultivation.
The day will come when water flows and is plentiful for all;
When rivers free of chemicals have an endless waterfall.
The day will come when disease and pain no longer have a place;
When the quest for knowledge has taken man much further than outer space.
The day will come when the world is one, and there is no nuclear power;
For while it exists, we are not safe, we are threatened by the hour.
The day will come when the earth is given a chance to have a rest;
When man no longer violates with every nuclear test.
The day will come when the homeless and poor have the comforts that they seek;
The just inheritance of earth for the mild, and for the meek.
The day will come for happiness and all our troubles will cease;
Let that day be upon us very soon, for the world cries out for peace.
