I sit and watch the crystal sea
And listen to the children’s cries;
They splash and play without a care,
For all to hear their happy sighs.
The Ti trees guard the sandy shore,
Their leaves still as the light of dawn.
And people gather like little ants
To savour the heat of the early morn.
I walk into the calm surrounds
And feel the cleansing of my soul;
And as the coolness heals my wounds,
The shattered body becomes whole.
I lay beneath the soothing balm
And feel the ripples through my veins,
And as I float like a lifeless toad,
The healing water relieves my pains.
I wish that it were all a dream,
And to this purpose I would pretend;
But then I open up my eyes,
For even dreams must have an end.
