The Mountain

I’ve travelled through the hills of life,

Sometimes they were very steep.

And when the crevices appeared,

I made an almighty leap.

But now I stare before me,

A mountain full of fears;

It seems so insurmountable

My eyes they fill with tears.

The peak is hazy from the clouds,

It stands at such great height,

And I am breathless, full of doubts,

As I gaze at the fearsome sight.

Can I succeed? Can I bear the pain?

My thoughts full of hesitation.

But finally I gather my strength from within,

And accept my situation.

I am not alone, for there are many

Who must climb their mountain of fears,

And they must find the strength from hope,

As they struggle through the years.

My trek seems slow as each day goes by,

But the peak is now much clearer,

I am not daunted by the height,

My hope has brought it nearer
