The Candle

Each day I light my candle, and ask for strength to cope;

I seek His love and guidance, that I may not lose hope.

I think about my days gone by, as I watch the candle burn;

my life is torn by past regrets, there is yet so much to learn.

Regret itself is pointless, as time we cannot rewind.

Fruitless thoughts of might have beens, can only confuse our mind.

I look at the day before me, and give thanks for our daily bread;

I focus on the here and now, and not at the months ahead.

So while my candle burns brightly, I know there is much to achieve;

I'll walk towards His guiding light, His strength I will receive.
