The Blue Sky

I gaze through the window to the clear blue sky and ponder my situation;

the deed is done, the scourge is gone, time for prayer and meditation.

There is no place for sadness, there is so much to do;

I will not wast my life on grief, I am one of the fortunate few.

I'll take to arms my pen and paints, and continue the work I've started,

for I have joined the army of God; the battle is not half-hearted.

I have the love of family and friends, such strength cannot be denied;

and through the pain and difficult times, we shared the tears we cried.

But after all the weeping is spent we'll join together in laughter;

I'll paint the colours of the rainbow in my quest for the ever after.
