Ode to Genevieve

I close my eyes, I see your face,

Your loving smile, your warm embrace;

And though distance and time have kept us apart,

Your love and your blessings are close to my heart.

A veil of humility, a cloth that it pure;

Touches with kindness, steadfast and sure.

We bonded our friendship the moment we met;

Your faith and your wisdom, I cannot forget.

For many long hours, the laughter we shared;

You gave me your spirit, and showed me you cared.

You took a soul torn, cut like a knife,

And filled it with love, and gave it life.

You fight the battle with the Holy sword,

Love and kindness, in the name of the Lord.

You gave me faith, you taught me to believe;

I will always be grateful, my dear, Genevieve.
