My Flowers

The sun peers through my window to lighten up my days.

The flowers smile at the warm embrace, take nourishment from its rays.

Bright red gerberas, golden honey poppies, roses, pink and blue,

Singapore orchids, anthurium lillies, simbidiums, to name a few.

The flowers a symbol of the love and warmth from people near and far;

my family, my friends, and all who care, how happy, how fortunate we are.

They show to me how much I'm loved, they take away my pain;

and I am left with strength to fight the thunder and the rain.

I'll weather the storm, the lightning too, for the winter will finally end;

the spring will appear with the rays of the sun, and my body will begin to mend.
